How do I play with my friends on the same server?

Incorrect, correct answer is yes. Servers don't matter. And can only play in sector 7 until multiplayer is released.

You simply cannot do that as the multiplayer feature has not be added to the game the servers are all in BETA PHASE. Your gonna have to wait unfortunately.
